SPECIAL NEEDS
Our Special Needs Dept. caters for pupils with a wide variety of learning difficulties. We are proud of our trained and experienced team of dedicated teaching assistants who support pupils with special needs in a number of ways ranging from enabling pupils to access the mainstream curriculum in the classroom, to withdrawing individuals and groups of pupils to our well-resourced learning support base. Our aim is to help pupils achieve their potential through a variety of educational activities tailored to their individual needs, while ensuring that all pupils feel included as valued members of our school community.

We also have intergrating units on the school site for both Hearing Impaired and Autistic pupils. The Hearing Impared Base is part of the Sensory Impairment Service and the Autistic Base is part of the Autistic Service and Children in Touch Trust. We also have pupils, along with support, from Northern House School, as appropriate, as they re-intergrate into mainstream education.
